One of the newest cities in Utah, Saratoga Springs was incorporated in 1997. It is located on the shores of Utah Lake and has seen steady growth. Because of this, much of the demographic information for the city is out of date. The 2000 census showed a population of 1,003 and about 271 households. The current population has grown by more than ten thousand to 11,570 and the number of households is probably in the upper two-thousand range. Nearly all Saratoga Springs residents own their homes. An estimated 7% of the population rents and median income is $71,790.

Even though Saratoga Springs is a young city, there is plenty to do. An eight acre public city marina adds ease to enjoying the lake and an 18-hole golf course takes advantage of the beautiful surroundings. About 11 inches of rain and 27 inches of snow fall annually. The temperature gets up to around 90 in the summer and down to 15 in the winter. Every year, the city holds a celebration called the Saratoga Splash which includes a 5K race, a parade and much more. The Salt Lake International Airport is only about 35 minutes away and Provo is about 25 minutes away. The University of Utah, Brigham Young University and Utah Valley University are all in commuting range.
