Kearns Utah was settled along the Jordan River in 1848 but didn’t see extreme growth until 1942 when an army air force base was built there for training during World War II. The base closed in 1946 and local residents took over. Kearns has not been incorporated as a city yet but a community council is expected to seek incorporation soon. The median income is $53,249 for a population of 37,707. 11% of the population are renters and there are 9,401 homes. About 45 inches of snow and 14 inches of rain are expected to fall each year.
